Modernisation of hall lighting at the Concertgebouw Brugge
A collaboration between Inytium, Controllux and TDE-Lighttech
In 2023, Inytium had the pleasure of collaborating with Controllux and manufacturer TDE-Lighttech on the complete modernisation of the auditorium lighting in the three spaces of the Concertgebouw Brugge, one of Belgium’s leading cultural venues.
This was a carefully managed project, which we had not had the opportunity to share until today, and which perfectly illustrates our expertise in demanding heritage environments.
The challenge was considerable: to replace the halogen lighting with a high-performance LED solution without altering the aesthetics or structure of the premises, while coordinating with the existing scenographic lighting. This was a tricky exercise, particularly where the infrastructure was sometimes old, requiring precise adaptations.
The choice fell on Moodspots from TDE-Lighttech, renowned for their ability to restore the warmth and softness of halogens when dimmed. These LED modules were precisely integrated into the original luminaires, whether in the studios, the chamber music room or the large concert hall. The new recessed spotlights have also been carefully adapted to the existing installations.
Thanks to TDE’s IZI Link system, the control signals pass directly through the existing electrical wiring, enabling a smooth transition to LED technology without major modifications. This approach made it possible to preserve the original equipment and materials, while guaranteeing optimum energy performance.
The result? Elegant, discreet and perfectly integrated auditorium lighting, operated entirely from the existing stage control system.
The Concertgebouw Brugge now benefits from a modern, sustainable solution with a low ecological footprint, in perfect harmony with the architecture and soul of the venue.
